Anjum Khan

Anjum Khan has over three decades of professional experience, mainly in sales & marketing domain.

Currently he is guiding a business engaged in providing integrated agricultural services to farmers.

While working in Iraq, he was responsible for sales & marketing functions of a telecom operator which was reviving its operations post ISIS insurgency. He had also commercially launched a green field telecom service in Madagascar while spearheading sales, marketing and customer services functions.

Earlier Anjum has also worked in sales & marketing in large Indian telecom companies like Tata Teleservices, Reliance Communication & Airtel. Anjum has also worked in express services & consumer durable industry, controlling branding, product management and customer loyalty functions.

Anjum had been bitten by entrepreneurial bug and managed a trading company in air handling products and also co-founded a venture into B2B software.

Anjum started his career in sales of consumer durable and moved to marketing with express services.

Anjum has completed his management education from IIM Ahmedabad and has a Masters degree in Physics.

Dr. Anil Bajpayee

Have had a very enriching and rewarding corporate career spanning across two important sectors , semiconductors and telecom. I have been over the last 12 years associated with the telecom sector in various functions , however what I consider as my personal achievements is the project management capability.

I have initiated from scratch in the capacity of a business head huge telecom network rollouts both in terms of network infrastructure as well as sales and distribution infrastructure for several operations in 7 states of India.

Specialties: Special ability is absorption of technology and motivating teams to deliver results, more so in project rollouts. My personal strength is the ability to communicate and mentor/coach my colleagues on subjects spanning the entire plethora of telecom and human interface.

Dr K M Baharul Islam

Dr K M Baharul Islam has been teaching and researching in the area of Communication, Development, Information Technology policy and legal issues for more than twenty-five years. He is presently the Chairperson of Centre of Excellence in Public Policy and Government at Indian Institute of Management Kashipur. He served as the Dean (Academics) during 2019-2021 at the same institute. He was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland on 18 March 2020.He us also a Visiting Professor at London School of Economics. He served as a faculty at various institutions like Gauhati University (1993), Diphu Government College (1993-94) and NIT Silchar (1994-2002), Kigali Institute of Technology, Rwanda and Addis Ababa University

Besides teaching Dr Islam has also worked extensively with UN agencies starting as a Consultant for UNESCO in Cambodia in 1998. Later he worked on ICT Policy, Plans and e-Government Strategy with the UN Commission for Africa (UNECA), UNESCAP, Bangkok and African Development Bank in Mauritius.

He has published widely with more than eight books and 30+ papers/articles to his credit. He is a public speaker, debater, TV commentator and communication specialist. He participated at the BBC World Debate in 2006 that brought him to international development communication limelight.

He did LLM in Telecom and Information Technology Laws from the University of Strathclyde (UK) and MA (English) from AMU, Aligarh. He did his PhD from the Tezpur University (India) and Talkbase program from Asian Institute of Technology (Bangkok). Besides he has also done B.Ed. with Educational Planning and Administration as a special paper. He did his MBA from I K Gujral Punjab Technical University and a second PhD on Transitional Justice from Don Bosco University, Assam.

Dr Islam is a recipient of Majaz Gold Medal in MA and United Kingdom Telecom Academy Fellowship. Two of his past projects in India and Ethiopia have received The World Bank’s Development Marketplace Certificate of Recognition in 2003 and 2007. Punit Modhgil

What role can technology play in India's development? Can we build the next Microsoft or Google or Facebook from India? How will India leverage the power of Online to build inclusion, improve governance and power up growth over the next 10 years? How is the function of marketing changing with the exacting demands of fast growth businesses in India?

My time is spent ideating on these thoughts, to try and develop new business models. The lines are blurring (offline-online, ATL-BTL, consumer-enterprise, demand-brand, global-local, sales-marketing-service) and it's an exciting time as we build towards the next level of growth in India.

In my earlier avatars my teams have built business (led marketing for the largest software business in India covering Enterprise & Public Sector), launched new products (category leading CRM products at companies like Oracle-US, Siebel-US and Talisma-India), contributed towards policy making (served on the advisory board of the first Parliamentary Committee in India on National Information Infrastructure-1996 which led to the creation of Ministry of IT) and built the largest public engagement campaigns in India (JanLokPal in 2011).

My internet journey started in India is 1996 with NIIT by adopting internet for education delivery and as a learning platform for its clients/consumers. My fascination for online continues- through 2011 where we used the power of social and online for Janlokpal movement or with octane.in, which since 2009 is actively spearheading India's opt-in movement for multi-channel marketing and meaningful engagement.

I started my digital journey in 1997, when internet was just making its presence felt in the world and Google was yet not launched, since then, I have worked with five startups, to learn the art and science of building businesses. My experiments with digital subscription, started in 2012, which was about one year after NY Times launched its digital subscriptions and when digital subscriptions were still in early stages of development, since then, I am learning this evolving field, that is now widely being adopted by various industries including Publishing, FMCG, CD, Software, Fitness, Education, Apparel, Entertainment etc

My expertise lies in transforming legacy businesses to digital and in scaling up businesses.

Debobroto Datta

Debobroto has more than 15 years of experience as a Director of Photography. His idea of photography is to show unique perspectives and storytelling. Combining wilderness guide training with several years in catalog and image production, he shoots for a great variety of projects doing sports, fashion, tv commercial, documentary and editorial work.

Some of the campaigns he worked for are Google, Facebook, National Games 2022, The Digital Fellow, UNICEF, WHO, Earth Day Network, Hikvision India, Godrej, Dahua, Mahindra, Mercedes, BNS Pay, Next Mile, IKCA, Kerala Tourism etc.

Shiladitya Dasgupta

Dr. S Dasgupta is a Cost Accountant and holds a doctoral degree from BITS-Pilani in strategic management. He has combined experience of 28 years, includes eleven years in industry and seventeen years in academics. He has taught strategy related papers in various business schools around Delhi NCR, including in IIM Rohtak and currently is a visiting faculty with IIFT’s Delhi campus since Feb-21. His subject specialization includes global business strategy and competitive strategy in the digital era.

He has worked for 2 MNCs as a cost accountant – Becton Dickinson and Tecumseh Products India Ltd – a compressor manufacturing major in refrigeration and air conditioning industry. During his industry tenure, he was trained by Toyota engineers on lean philosophy in Tecumseh and he was in charge of Tecumseh’s shop floor costing responsibilities, which included target and kaizen costing, activity based costing and overall productivity improvement and waste reduction. He also worked extensively with 300+ MSME vendors of Tecumseh to improve their cost and productivity parameters.

Recently he joined Digital fabric – a Hyderabad based digital consulting firm as a strategy consultant. His role in this assignment – facilitate implementation of ESM – enterprise service management and be a guiding voice in a firm’s digital journey from attaining digital maturity in service aspects to reach a high level of innovative thinking in new product launches and finally reach the last stage of digital maturity – complete enterprise transformation.

His research focus: -
He has published a number of papers on strategy in international refereed academic journals and published a book on innovation last year, by Wiley. For last two years he is engaged in research on the subject of digital transformation and aims to publish in a top tier journal like California Management Review. He has ascertained that, there are five stages of digital evolution –

1)Building Service capabilities to customers and employees using data analytics and digital marketing 2)Building Digital-Human Assets: - people, process, knowledge 3)Building Internal Platforms – to build new and innovative products 4)Building External Collaborative Platforms with start-ups using the corporate accelerator model (BMW Garage as example) – which reduces the time and cost of innovation 5)Building Inter-Organizational digital dashboards to solve unique and complex business challenges, which can’t be solved by one firm. TATA UNI EVERSE for example.

Future Goals: -
What will strategic thinking in the digital era? The old industrial paradigms of strategic thinking are static and siloistic – their focus is on one firm/one industry and the industrial paradigm’s emphasis is on size, scale and creation of barriers to entry. All this paradigms have crumbled but new paradigms haven’t yet emerged! Thus creating an intellectual vacuum in strategic vision and thought. This vacuum is creating serious problems for managers who is facing a market of platform based competition – the older product based competitive strategic thinking is obsolete now.

This is an intellectual challenge facing all academics of strategy field and various thoughts and insights have recently started emerging from Ivy League b-schools, which is yet insufficient to guide managers. He hopes to contribute to this ongoing intellectual debate in coming years.

Sugata Halder

An accomplished professional with over 28 years in the corporate world, Sugata has been into Sales and Human Capital development work for many years now. Initially starting off in Sales & Mktg function he then moved onto the HR domain as part of a career development process. Consequently he brings to the table an unique blend of both; understanding of the sales & Marketing domain as also Human Capital development domain knowledge.

He has worked in various industries including IT, Training & Consulting, Telecom, Building Materials and Tea both in India and abroad He has hands on experience in the Sales domain for over 15 years leading sales teams in B2B sales across industries.

He brings to the table over 13000 hours of actual training & Consulting design and delivery experience, both in Sales and all HR related activities. He has designed, curated and delivered consulting projects across industry verticals, in several countries with target audience ranging between CXO bands to front line executives. He has managed Country HR Head roles – a CXO position – with experience in leading the entire human capital initiative, design change platforms, integrate same with overall business landscape, build HR as a key strategic domain within the organisation. He has also been a part of the top mgmt. Executive Committee responsible for designing the future growth roadmap of the group he was part of.

His domain expertise include change management, Biz Strategy design, strategic HR and Talent mgmt.. He is a regular speaker at various seminars and conclaves and one of his pet subject is Future of Work and Workplaces. He is experienced in consulting with various Biz Houses and Start Ups to help curate thei r Biz strategy and operational roadmaps
